See a loss of performance in your old bowling ball?

The primary reason for the change in ball reaction is the absorption of oil into the coverstock.

In order for a bowling ball to  hook, it needs to absorb oil.  After a period of time, the ball becomes saturated with oil and it looses the out of the box characteristics.

Detoxing or deoiling a bowling ball refers to the process of removing oil and dirt buildup from the surface of the ball.

We have a process that safely extracts the oil from your old bowling ball.

This will restore the hook-ability of your old bowling ball to 99% of its original hook characteristic.

Bowling Ball Detox Oil Remover

Detoxing / Deoiling is an important maintenance procedure for bowlers because oil accumulation on the ball can affect its performance and hook potential.

Here are a few reasons why you may choose to detox or deoil your bowling balls:

1. **Maintaining Performance:**
Bowling balls are designed with specific performance characteristics, and oil buildup can alter these characteristics.

Over time, the oil can fill in the pores of the ball’s coverstock, reducing its ability to grip the lane and hook effectively.

Deoiling the ball helps restore its original performance.

2. **Consistency:**
Bowlers strive for consistency in their shots.
A clean ball reacts predictably, making it easier for the bowler to make accurate shots.

A ball with oil buildup may react unpredictably, leading to inconsistent results.

3. **Increased Hook Potential:**
Some bowlers prefer a high hook potential from their balls.

By removing the oil, the ball can regain its ability to grip the lane more effectively, resulting in a stronger hook motion.

4. **Prolonging the Ball’s Lifespan:**
Regular maintenance, including deoiling, can extend the lifespan of your bowling ball.

When oil is left to accumulate on the ball’s surface, it can lead to coverstock degradation over time, reducing the ball’s overall durability.

5. **Regulation Compliance:**
In some competitive bowling leagues and tournaments, there may be rules regarding the maximum oil absorption a ball can have.
Detoxing the ball ensures it remains within the allowable limits.

When new, your Bowling ball has a coverstock free from oil contamination. With use, the coverstock becomes ‘coverstock + oil’.

This new, oil- soaked coverstock has diminished ability to traction through oil and create friction with the lane, and diminished ability to respond aggressively to the dry boards on the lane.

Using our process to remove the oil from the coverstock returns your Bowling ball to its original condition.
